AAD Management General Information

The AAD Management is part of the application that covers the features related to the Hello for Business application. The AAD Management contains the following parts:

  1. The Users tab - the list of users from configured resource
  2. The Devices tab - the list of devices from configured resource
  3. the Tasks tab - list of tasks created within the profile application feature

Processes on AAD Devices are not described in this documentation - those processes are mostly the same as processes on AAD Users - the feature of profile application on devices works the same way as for users.

Available actions for the USERS tab for users with appropriate privileges:


Display user detail

[ click on the row ]

Display user details allows the operator to display all necessary details needed for the overall view of each user.

Filters

The records in the table can be filtered by:

  • Username, name, ID
  • Profile
  • User type

Apply profile for a single user

Application of the selected profile on the user. The profile is created in the IGA console and specifies which groups are assigned and possibly unassigned. Applying a profile for a single user is a Synchronous operation - done almost immediately.

Apply profile for multiple users

Application of the selected profile on the user. The profile is created in the IGA console and specifies which groups are assigned and possibly unassigned. Applying a profile for a single user is an Asynchronous operation - the application task is created and its status can be viewed in the Tasks tab.

Run task

The Run task feature is available for the "re-run" asynchronous tasks created within the apply profile for multiple users function. Can be used in case the initial run of the task was terminated by some error - the user was not found, the user can be assigned to a specific group, the user is in a different group and so on.


Display user detail

Open the AAD Management menu option in the Operational Console menu.

A list of users from AAD resources will be displayed.

Search for the desired user - you can use the Filter function - and mouse-click on the selected row.

The drawer with the details of the user will be displayed on the right side of the screen.

The details contain the following information:

  • the header - basic/main information about the user
  • the Profiles tab - the list of Profiles that were set to the user by the Apply profile feature
  • the Devices tab - the list of devices where the user is enlisted
  • the Groups tab - the groups which are user members of
  • The Complete user detail tab - complete information about the user from AAD, has sections:
    • Identity information
    • Job information
    • Contact information
    • On-premises information


Apply profile for single user/device

Open the AAD Management menu option in the Operational Console menu.

A list of users from AAD resources will be displayed.

Search for the desired user - you can use the Filter function and press the APPLY PROFILE [image.png] from the context menu [image.png].

The new window for profile application will be opened.

Select one or more profiles from the select box and press the CONFIRM button.

Only relevant profiles for the user and profiles that operator has permission to use are displayed

The profile will be granted to the user without any delay.


Apply profile for multiple users/devices

Open the AAD Management menu option in the Operational Console menu.

A list of users from AAD resources will be displayed.

Search for the desired users - you can use the Filter function. Select the users by multi-select feature [image.png/image.png] and press the button APPLY PROFILE [image.png] on the left top of the table with selected users.

The new window for profile application will be opened.

Select one or more profiles from the select box and press the CONFIRM button.

Only relevant profiles for the user and profiles that  operator has permission to use are displayed

The application task will be created and run. In case of more users, the task run might take some time. For the confirmation of task run status go to the Tasks tab. The Tasks tab contains the overview of created tasks - possible statuses are:

  •  - task is still running - might take some time in case of more users
  • - the task was successfully finished
  • - the task was completed successfully, but for some users, the profile could not be set up. The task can be run again - for the details of the Re-run feature see this documentation.
  •  - the unknown status

Run task

Open the AAD Management menu option in the Operational Console menu.

A list of users from AAD resources will be displayed.

Go to the Tasks and find the desired task - you can use the Filter function - only FAILED tasks can be restarted.

Select one or more tasks and press the RUN button [image.png] which is available for selected tasks on the left top corner of the table.

The profile application could be successful by re-run but for some users still might be possible to set the profile. In this case, it is necessary to check the failed users in the AAD and find out the reasons. The list of failed users is available on the detail of the task on the FAILED tab

Confirm the confirmation modal window and if everything is ok then the message about successful start will be displayed.

The status of the task run can be observed in the Tasks tab.
